Over 41 billion VND for charitable activities
Last year, the Da Nang Red Cross Association and its chapters at all levels raised a total of over 41 billion VND for local charitable activities thanks to donations from generous domestic organisations and individuals.

Over the period, the association became actively involved in encouraging local citizens to donate a total of more than 35,000 units of blood to meet the demand of local hospitals for use in general treatment and emergencies.
In addition, appeals were made for domestic organisations and individuals to participate in various meaningful programmes to help 4,709 needy people.
Great efforts were also made to organising a total of 173 training courses for the association’s members in order to help them enhance their first-aid and emergency skills, as well as how to effectively raise public awareness about natural disaster mitigation.
From now until the end of this year, the focus is on appealing at least 40 billion VND for charitable activities. In particular, importance is attached to presenting Tet gifts to a total of 23,000 poor people, disabled residents, and Agent Orange victims to help them enjoy a warm and happy festival.
Also, heed is paid to ensuring the effective implementation of programmes to assist the poor and other vulnerable groups. In addition, the emphasis is on encouraging local residents to donate a total of 36,000 units of blood.
Furthermore, the Association is making greater efforts to ensure all of its chapters having voluntary groups, to offer training courses on first-aid and emergency for 15,000 people, and to provide 10,000 others with knowledge on coping with natural disasters.
On Tuesday, the Association received an Excellent Emulation Flag from the Viet Nam Red Cross Society in recognition of its remarkable achievements over the 2015 - 2017 period. Similar flags were also presented to the Association’s chapters in Thanh Khe and Hoa Vang district for their significant achievements over the 2013 - 2017 period
In addition, a total of 47 individuals and groups were given Certificates of Merit from the Viet Nam Red Cross Society, in recognition of their active involvement in local charitable activities.
