Over recent years, many Japanese nationals have settled down in Da Nang, and their decisions were really inspired by their special love for the beautiful seaside city.

Mr Nakamori Katsuyuki, 73, has lived in Da Nang for 12 years, and he is now a teacher at the city’s Sakura Japanese Centre.
Learners at the centre always show their high respect for him because he has acted as a bridge in promoting cultural exchange activities between Vietnamese and Japanese students.
The Japanese man said that he had lived a short time in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City before settling down in Da Nang.
Like Tokyo, the bustle and quick life tempo in Viet Nam’s two large cities was not suitable for him because he likes a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. For this reason, he decided to live in Da Nang to enjoy the beautiful landscape and healthy environment.
In addition, he is very impressed by the enthusiasm, friendliness and good-hearted nature of local residents. He added that he enjoys the local cuisine.
Mr Nakamori has confidently integrated into the local community. In the afternoon, he usually walks on the local shady streets or enjoys some delicious seafood dishes with his friends at local seaside restaurants.
In particular, the Japanese man revealed that, during the Tet holiday, he usually spends much time driving his own motorcycle through many corners of this city, especially suburb areas, in order to admire the allure of the local landscapes.
Apart from his teaching activities, Mr Nakamori is now the manager of the city’s largest ever Japanese tea ceremony club. Moreover, he has actively involved in Viet Nam-Japan cultural exchange events in the city. This, thereby, will help to further deepen the bilateral ties and friendship between the two countries.
Another Japanese man, 30-year-old Matsuura Hiromu hailing from Nagasaki Prefecture, has lived in Da Nang for 6 years, and he has always considered as his second home.

He revealed, at first, he intended to live here for up to 3 years. However, the beauty of the land, especially honest and friendly nature of the local inhabitants, inspired him to extend his stay period here.
Another factor impresses this Japanese man is that Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, is now home to a large number of traditional markets, all of which show off bustling purchasing atmosphere.
It is the fact that the longer he lives in this city, the more he loves this place.
Mr Hiromu has enjoyed 5 Tet festivals in the city, and he is very impressed with the cozy and warm atmosphere on this special occasion. He likes visiting the houses of his colleagues to extend Tet wishes, as well as eating ‘banh chung’(square glutinous rice cakes), and drinking beer with them.
Mr Hiromu hoped that he would exert greater efforts to advertise the distinctive Japanese cultural values to Da Nang’s residents in the coming time.
Interestingly, he longs to get married to a Vietnamese woman, and together to settle down in this beautiful seaside city in a near future.
