2 expensive sculptures placed in public areas
On Monday, 2 expensive sculptures, donated by the Da Nang Sculpture Fund, were placed at Da Nang’s public areas.

Created by famous Norwegian sculptor Oyvin Storbaekken, 1.5m high ‘Song Bien’ (Seawaves) stands at the corner of the Vo Van Kiet and Vo Nguyen Giap streets.
Standing 1.8m high, ‘Dong Sua Me’ (Mother's Milk), created by talented sculptor Pham Hong, is placed in a public park on Tran Hung Dao street, opposite the Azura Building.
Worth over 1 billion VND in total, the two arts works were made from blocks of natural white marble.
In particular, the sculptures are amongst the 10 sculpture designs to have been selected by the municipal government since 2015 for being placed in public areas in a bid to give the local cultural and urban space a new look.
Sculptors Oyvin Storbaekken and Pham Hong became actively engaged in the Da Nang Sculpture Project.
The project was fully funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation the project during the 2003 - 2006 period, and sponsored by the Norwegian Church Aid and the Nordic Assistance to Viet Nam during the 2007 - 2009 period.
