On Thursday, the Da Nang Department of Education and Training launched campaigns of swimming learning, traditional folk games, and ‘Day of Love’ during the school holiday.

During the period, the city is targeting at offering swimming courses for 28,000 pupils, and organising traditional folk games for the first time with a message of stopping unhelpful games by organising folk games in schools.

Local schools have planned to enhance the organisation of folk games and considered it one of their most important tasks.

Following success of the ‘Day of Love’ programme last year, this year’s event aims to appeal for voluntary donations from pupils from primary to senior high schools.

Such gifts as notebooks, textbooks, learning tools, toys, warm clothes and blankets will be donated to poor pupils at some schools in the city’s Hoa Vang District, and ethnic minority pupils in Quang Nam Province.
