In a similar vein, district-level authorities will encourage associations and residents in their localities to join efforts to clean up the environment, ensure security and food safety and hygiene, and stop the harassment of tourists.
Also, the municipal Tourism Association will direct its member organisations to get actively involved in tourism environment protection activities.
The launch of these practical activities is in active response to the ongoing environment protection campaign in tourism activities, themed ‘Blue Vietnamese Sea’ in 5 central coastal localities of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Da Nang.
The campaign is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU).
According to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism’s Institute for Tourism Development Research, Viet Nam is home to a total of over 1 million sq.km of sea water surface, more than 2,770 coastal islands, and a number of beautiful beaches from the north to the south.
Tourist landmarks include the world natural heritage Ha Long Bay, one of the world’s most beautiful bays Nha Trang Bay, and Da Nang’s My Khe Beach – one of the six most attractive beaches on the planet.
