At around 2.00pm on Wednesday, a large fire broke out at the Chieu Ung Pagoda located at K27 Ly Thai To in Thanh Khe District’s Thac Gian Ward.

Some witnesses reported seeing thick plumes of black smoke rising from a warehouse inside the pagoda where electrical equipment were stored.

These products are owned by a company headquartered on Dien Bien Phu Street.

The witnesses, along with some residents living nearby, in prompt fashion, used portable fire extinguishers available here to try to extinguish the blaze, and then called to the local fire-fighters for help.

Soon after, 2 fire engines, along with 25 firefighters from the Fire Fighting and Prevention Division No 2, arrived on the scene quickly to extinguish the fire.

Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was completely extinguished after only 30 minutes.

However, all the electrical equipment, worth billions of VND, was totally destroyed during the destructive incident.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
