Being a locality which is suffering the worst consequences of the past two resistance wars, Hoa Phong Commune has the highest number of disabled and AO-affected people, and those with life-threatening diseases. Included are around 500 needy people and 239 poor families.

Therefore, Mrs Chi has made great efforts to raise money from her relatives, friends and generous donors from domestic and foreign localities to help needy people.

In particular, her Chapter gave Tet gifts to around 700 people to help them enjoy a happy and warm Tet. In the coming time, the Chapter and the Hoa Vang District Red Cross Association will together organise a charity musical performance in order to raise money for needy families.

Moreover, Mrs Chi and 30 members of the Chapter usually provide between 500 and 600 free portions of rice for poor patients at the Bac Quang Nam Hospital. Over recent years, she has encouraged local families to save money in their piggy banks to help needy people. Most notably, up to 800 million VND has been raised by Mrs Chi to assist natural disaster-hit residents over recent years.

The kind-hearted woman said that she always felt happy when helping poor people. In addition, her work receives strong support from her husband, which creates extra motivation for her to continue doing her meaningful activities.
