Three fined for illegal wildlife transportation
On Tuesday, the Forest Ranger and Forest Fire Prevention Division of the Da Nang Forest Protection Department imposed a fine of 37.5 million VND in total on 3 men for illegally transporting wild animals.

The violators are Pham Van An from Gia Lai Province, and Tran Van Son and Nguyen Hai Toan, both from Binh Dinh Province.
On 5 May, the Division’s inspectors stopped a 45-seat passenger coach with registration plate 81B-01156 suspected of illegally transporting some wild animals. The coach was en route on the Nam Hai Van-Tuy Loan bypass in the city’s Hoa Vang District, heading to Ha Noi.
Coach driver Pham Van An confessed to the forest rangers that he was hired to transport the wild animals from Binh Dinh Province to Ha Noi by Tran Van Son and Nguyen Hai Toan.
Mr Tran Minh Triet, Head of the Division, said the wildlife seized were 13 Asian palm civets (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus), 2 masked palm civets (Paguma larvata), 4 Asiatic brush-tailed porcupines (Atherurus macrourus), and 100 cuckoos. All of them were later released into the Subdivision No 51 in the Ba Na-Nui Chua natural conservation area, Mr. Triet added.
