Vice Chairman Tuan highlighted the significance of the trip in raising awareness amongst civil servants, especially Party members, of the country’s sea-based development strategies, and the national legitimate sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa archipelagoes during the cause of national construction and defence.

The city leader also remarked that the trip helps to encourage on-duty naval officers and men, and residents living on the Truong Sa islands, and those who are serving on the platform DK1, to overcome any obstacles to protect the national sovereignty over its sea and islands, and ensure stability and peace at sea as well.

Ahead of the trip, some leaders of the delegation had offered incenses at the Monument for War Martyrs and Heroes of No-number Ship to commemorate those who laid down their lives during the anti-US resistance war.

Previously on 9 May, some representatives from Da Nang, led by Vice Chairman Tuan, had paid visits to the Submarine Brigade 189, and submarine HQ-186 Da Nang.

To mark this occasion, the visiting guests handed over 100 million VND and 50 million VND to the crew members of HQ-186 Da Nang, and the officers and men of the Submarine Brigade 189, respectively.
