Between 30 March and 26 May, representatives from the Da Nang Market Management Bureau conducted surprise inspections of facilities trading in imported cigarettes, plus restaurants and hotels, and retail dealers.
During their inspections, focus was on checking business registration certificates and the origin of illegally imported cigarettes, and detecting any counterfeit tobacco products.
As a result, a total of over 64 million VND in fines was imposed on 16 violation cases, and 457 boxes of tobaccos of different types were seized.
Furthermore, retail tobacco dealers at the Inter-provincial Coach Station and markets across the city were required to sign commitments in writing to ensure their strict compliance with the national trading laws.
