5-degree cool down, wet and windy weather possible in city Saturday
According to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the intense heat wave which has prolonged across Da Nang and elsewhere in the mid- central region will end by Saturday afternoon, 8 September, due to the influence of the on-going northeast monsoon.
Temperatures will cool off behind a cold front on Friday.
The cold front will drop into the northern localities tomorrow, and then hitting some mid-central regional areas.
From Saturday onwards, northern central provinces can expect showers with a chance of thunderstorms. In particular, the thunderstorms could cause lightning, whirlwinds, hail, and strong winds over the next few days.
The average high temperature in the daytime in Central Viet Nam is expected to drop to between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
Sea waters off the coast of the central regional localities are bracing for scattered showers and thunderstorms, with waves from 0.75m to 1.75m high, and strong winds level 4 – 5.
Da Nang will see wet weather with the daytime temperatures ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius from Saturday onwards.
The national forecasters have also warned that, during this month, 2 or 3 typhoons and tropical depressions are likely to occur in the East Sea, one of which is predicted to make a landfall on the northern central localities.
