Last Friday, the Son Tra District Police in Da Nang temporarily detained Nguyen Thanh Quang, 24, who is now residing in the district’s Nai Hien Dong Ward, for ‘illegally trafficking drugs’.

At around 10.00pm on 26 September, the police kept track of Quang’s suspicious acts for driving a white car carrying a 70cm-high Nitrous Oxide (N2O) gas tank to a karaoke bar located on Phan Van Dong Street.  

Whilst being checked unexpectedly, Quang hurriedly threw a packet of cigarettes down on the street. However, his suspicious action couldnot escape the police’s eyes.

After checking the suspected package, the police discovered and seized 5 tablets of synthetic drugs and 2 packets of Ketamine. In addition, they searched Quang’s car, and seized over 200 tablets of ecstasy, 100 grams of Ketamine, and many drug interaction tools.

During his interrogations, Quang admitted to have bought these above-mentioned drugs to use, and resell to other addicts with the aim of earning profits.

Currently, the Son Tra District police are completing for Quang’s criminal records in order to submit them to the Drug-related Crime Investigation Division of the municipal Department of Police for further investigation.
