A large fire engulfed a paint warehouse and a repair workshop in Da Nang’s Hoa Cam Industrial Park on Thursday. The blaze lasted for about 3 hours before it was extinguished.

The municipal firefighters said the fire began at around 5.30pm and they worked very hard to bring the fire under control at 8.15pm on the same day.

Witnesses said that large plumes of smoke were billowing from the burning facilities, followed by loud explosions at the time.

Shortly after, the violent blaze rapidly spread to adjacent areas in the IP.   

Upon receiving reports of the incident, a large number of fire engines and dozens of firefighters rushed to the scene, in a quickly fashion, in order to douse the fire.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
