At around 12.30 pm on 9 November, whilst being on duty at sea, the KN322 ship of the Fisheries Surveillance Team No 3 at Da Nang’s Fisheries Surveillance Agency Zone 2 received a distress alert transmitted from Quang Binh Province’s fishing boat QB 91727 TS.

The distressed boat was about 65 nautical miles north-east from the Con Co Island. It had suffered a rudder breakdown while fishing in the national waters and was adrift.
By 8.55pm on the same day, despite the harsh weather conditions with northeastern winds of levels 5 and 6, ship KN322 arrived at the scene and 19 fishermen were rescued.
At 4.30pm last Saturday, the KN322 ship safely towed the distressed boat, along with a crew of 19 onboard, to Quang Binh Province’s Hon La Port.
