Since 3.00pm on 9 November, the water supply in Da Nang has returned to normal after several days of water scarcity thanks to the low salinity levels of the Cau Do (Red Bridge) River.

On that day, the salinity level of the River was reported at 243mg/l. This figure decreased to under 12mg/l on 11 November.

This positive result is mainly attributed to the rainy weather over recent days. This has helped to push the salinity out of the river.

Currently, the Da Nang Water Supply Company (DAWACO) is operating with full of capacity to supply over 270,000m3 of freshwater per day and night to meet the demand from local residents.

Thanks to this, the current freshwater supply has met the demand from residents’ daily lives, and agricultural and industrial production activities in the locality.

Recently, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho has given the nod to build a dam for preventing salinity and storing tap water in an effort to ensure the sufficient water supply for the daily lives, and the agricultural and industrial production activities, of local citizens.
