December 20, 2018, 10:26 [GMT+7]
According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, employees of agencies and departments nationwide, plus those of political and social organisations, will officially have 4 days off work (29 December 2018 to 1 January 2019) for New Year 2019.
In return, these employees are required to work on Saturday 5 January 2019 as compensation.
Local agencies, organisations, businesses and family homes, as well as vessels anchored in the Han River, are all required to fly national flags on 1 January 2019.
The heads of local agencies have been urged to arrange for some of their employees to remain on duty over the period, as well as to ensure security and order.
