55,000 poor children with heart complaints receive free screening tests
During this year, the Da Nang Association for Supporting Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children has raised a total of more than 11.1 billion VND from generous domestic and foreign donors to help those in need.
In addition, over 55,000 poor children were provided with free screening tests for the early detection of congenital heart complaints. As a result, 40 of them who were diagnosed with such problems received free surgery at a cost of over 1.7 billion VND.
Moreover, more than 880 million VND was used to cover hospital fees for over 1,900 poor female patients at the Cancer and Women’s hospitals.
Apart from meaningful activities, over 5,300 poor women were given free screening tests for the early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
Next year, the Association will raise 9.7 billion VND in total from generous donors to help poor women and children.
Special attention will be paid to offering free screening tests for 40,000 people aged between 1 and 20 years for the early detection of congenital heart complaints.
Importance will be attached to covering hospital fees for over 1,600 poor women, and providing free screening tests for 5,000 others for the early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
