In recent years, Trade Union organisations across Da Nang have been actively involved in organising voluntary blood donation campaigns, and encouraging their members to donate blood in order to ensure sufficient blood supplies for emergency cases and medical treatment in local hospitals.

An annual average of between 8 and 15 such campaigns are organised by these organisations, and a total of over 3,000 units of blood are collected every year.

In 2018 alone, the municipal Labour Federation organised 5 blood donation campaigns. As a result, more than 1,500 units of blood were collected from nearly 2,000 donors.

The Federation’s Vice Chairman Tran Vu Duy Man remarked his organisation has made every effort to ensure the success of the campaigns and encourage more members to participate in these meaningful events.

He added executive boards of Trade Union organisations have encouraged owners of the city-based businesses to widely publicise such campaigns amongst their employees, and facilitate them to donate blood.

Many foreign-invested enterprises have been praised for their active involvement in encouraging their employees to participate in such campaigns, including Daiwa Vietnam, Foster Electronics, Mabuchi Motor and Vina-Kad companies.
