Cold, wet weather possible for the city Friday into Sunday
Over the coming days, rainy and cold conditions will prevail in Da Nang and elsewhere in the mid-central region as the cold air intensifies and spills into the region, according to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
It is noticeable that torrential rain is predicted to batter some parts of the region from Thua Thien - Hue to Quang Ngai on Friday and Saturday.
Friday into Sunday, Da Nang is anticipated to brace for moderate and heavy downpours with the total rainfall accumulation ranging from 80 to 150mm, and over 200mm in some parts of the city.
The city will see day-time temperatures drop to 18-20 degrees Celsius with chilly nights, and even plummet to be as low as between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius in its mountainous areas.
Under the influence of the cold snap and a fresh tropical depression near the East Sea, north-northwestern winds levels 3-4 are expected to appear in the mainland of the city, whilst winds levels 67, with a gust of level 8, and heavy rough seas, are likely to be seen off the coast of the city.
