According to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, temperatures will cool down today as a cold front is moving towards the southern part of the country.

Friday night into Saturday, Da Nang and elsewhere in the mid-central region from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai provinces may see moderate and heavy downpours. In addition, thunderstorms and gale-force winds are possible in these localities.

In particular, total rainfall for Quang Binh to Quang Tri provinces is expected to be widely 20 to 40mm per day, and even over 60mm in some parts of these localities. For Thua Thien Hue Province, rainfall accumulation is expected to be over 70mm, and up to 50mm in Da Nang, up to 70mm in Quang Nam and 80mm in up to Quang Ngai.

Temperatures will be down into 16 and 21 degrees Celsius in localities from Quang Binh to Thua Thien-Hue, 20 and 23 degrees Celsius in parts from Da Nang to Quang Ngai.

North-northwestern winds level 3 are expected to appear in the mainland of these mid-central regional localities, whilst north-northeastern winds levels 5-6, with a gust of level 7, and heavy rough seas, are likely to be seen off the coast of these localities.

The forecasters also warned that the ongoing violent seasonal monsoon winds are expected to gain in strength soon and linger until 14 December. This will bring more chances for colder weather, possibly even prolonged rains to central regional localities in the coming days.
