The Da Nang Employment Service Centre is one of the 4 regional centres established by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

The Centre targets to realise its goal of becoming a hub in Central Viet Nam connecting labour supply and demand throughout the region.

The Centre-launched job fair, which took place in late October, attracted hundreds of job seekers.

During this event, 105 participating businesses offered a combined total of 1,400 vacant jobs, including mechanics, drivers, general accountants, room staff, and bartenders.

Nguyen Thu Huong, a 27-year-old job seeker from the neighbouring province of Quang Nam decided to apply for a garment worker job at the city-based PI VINA DANANG Lld.

Asked why to seek jobs through such an event, she said this event attracted businesses which offer a wide range of job choices with good salaries and benefits.

In his remarks, Mr Nguyen Duc Tri, the Director of the Center said, following the success of the city-held job fairs and the city’s employment creation programme in the 2006 - 2010 period, the municipal administration have give a nod to the organisation of 4 job recruitment events per month in a bid to connect job seekers and recruiters

In recent times, this regular model has proved highly effective in facilitating job hunters to access advanced job search and consultancy services.

Mr Tri also expressed his delight at the growing number of businesses participating in such events.

He added that his Centre has always focused on regularly organising training courses on job counseling and introduction skills for his staff members.

In fact, job seekers usually attend such event while trying to make a good impression to potential coworkers by speaking face-to-face with one another, filling out their CVs, and asking questions in attempt to get a good feel on the work needed.

In particular, fresh graduates and young workers have the chance to be provided with practical tips and advice on how to write a CV or succeed in an interview to get the job.

Likewise, employers of all sizes and specialties find these job events extremely useful.  They can gain access to a large number of candidates in a one-stop environment, have an opportunity to meet with non-traditional candidates, meet and network with other recruiters and professionals in the field, and  increase brand awareness.
