Bringing Tet gifts to remote areas

In recent days, many young people in Da Nang have become actively involved in presenting Tet gifts to residents in remote mountainous areas. The intention is to help them enjoy a warm and happy Tet.

In response to the ‘Sharing Love’ programme, members of the Hai Chau District Youth Union (YU) have recently presented Tet gifts, including rice, instant noodles, fish sauce, cooking oil and warm clothes, to poor people in A Nong Commune, Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province.

In a similar vein, members of the Huong Lam Charity and Children's Right Protection Club have given Tet gifts to poor pupils and residents living in Tra Leng Commune in the province’s Nam Tra My District.

Meanwhile, young people from the Quang Binh Fellow Countrymen's Association organised a musical performance and offered free meals to patients in the Da Nang Mental Health Hospital. Over the past year, the club’s members have made every effort to raise funds for charities by selling fresh flowers on holidays.

Most recently, a group of students from the Inter-Youth Union Organisation of the Business Administration Faculty of the municipal University of Economics have done their volunteer work at the Gian Bi Village in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Bac Commune.

The focus has been on cleaning up and removing grass and bushes, and helping the single elderly build vegetable growing gardens. In addition, they have presented Tet gifts to local people, and constructed entertainment areas for children.

Last Saturday, Deputy Minister for Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, along with representatives from the municipal Police Department, the Cong An Nhan Dan (People’s Police) Newspaper and the DTH Viet Nam Services and Trading Investment Co Ltd donated 250 Tet gifts to ethnic minority people and poor families in the villages of Ta Lang and Gian Bi in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Bac Commune. Each of Tet gifts concluded rice, necessities and 700,000 VND in cash.

On the same day, the delegation presented 150 other gifts, valued at 1 million VND each, to people in Phu Tuc Village in the district’s Hoa Phu Commune.
