Nearly 36.5 billion VND raised for charity
The Da Nang Red Cross Association last year raised a total of nearly 36.5 billion VND from the general public for charitable activities.
The money went to help poor families, Agent Orange victims, and those with pitiful circumstances.
Besides, this agency collected a total of 36,674 units of blood from local donors, who together accounted for 3.3% of the city’s population.
The operational efficiency of 44 emergency aid points across the city has been ensured, and first aid was given to the injured in 227 cases of traffic accidents.
In 2019, the Association will focus on raising a total of 6 billion VND or more to help at least 3,200 people in need, building a humanitarian aid and emergency relief fund worth at least 2 billion VND.
In addition, importance will be attached to publicising knowledge on disaster mitigation, and first aid to a large number of local families, and launching voluntary blood donation campaigns to collect 39,500 blood units in total.
