Poverty reduction records remarkable results
According to the latest figures released by the Da Nang Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, last year a total of 4,889 families across the city were lifted above poverty threshold, exceeding 22% of the year’s target.

This positive result helped the city finish 2 years ahead of schedule under the city’s poverty reduction programme for the 2016 - 2020 period.
In 2018 alone, the loans worth around 100 billion VND were given to 2,060 poor families in total to help them develop their businesses in order to increase their incomes and improve their living conditions.

In addition, 7.3 billion VND from the city budget was spent on building new houses, repairing downgraded ones, and giving housing to 240 poor families.
Moreover, 49,000 poor people were given free health insurance cards totalling 49 billion VND. Especifically, assistance was given to 24,500 locals to access job opportunities.
Also, over 2 billion VND from the city budget went to help 1,021 people to attend vocational training courses .
