Following recent instructions from the Da Nang People’s Committee, from 4 January onwards, under 50-seater tourist boats will be banned from operating on the Han River-Tran Thi Ly Bridge route.

The purpose is to ensure the inland waterway traffic safety over the upcoming Tet festival.

Relevant local agencies have been asked to increase their monitoring of the operation of tourist boats on the Han, Vinh Dien and Cam Le rivers before, during and after Tet.

The focus has been on increasing the checks of tourist boats operating on the Han River-Tran Thi Ly Bridge route for satisfying the city’s requirements on inland waterway safety and ensuring the ultimate safety for passengers.

Importance has been attached to ensuring the safety of locals and visitors at sea border areas, the Da Nang Bay and the Da Nang Port.

Besides, the monitoring of tourist boats operating near the Son Tra Peninsula will be enhanced, and likewise, boats operating illegally at this area will be strictly handled.
