1 deadly accident recorded in the city over 6 days of Tet break

According to the Traffic Police Division of the Da Nang Police Department, over the 6 days of the ongoing Tet break, from 2 to 7 February, one serious road traffic accident was recorded in the city, killing one person and injuring another.

Over the holiday break, a total of 119 road traffic violations were recorded across the city.

The violations include exceeding the speed limits, overtaking recklessly, crossing red light, not stopping at bus stops, and picking up and dropping off passengers at unallowed locations.

Over the past 6 days, a large number of police officers were on duty at entertainment and shopping centers, and public areas in order to ensure ultimate security across the city.

It was reported that, a total of 117 traffic accidents were recorded across Viet Nam during the 6 days of the Tet holiday, resulting in 112 deaths and 150 injuries.

On 7 February alone, 32 traffic accidents occurred, claiming 15 lives and causing 40 injuries.

The number of traffic accidents during the 6 days had seen a reduction in both deaths and injuries compared to the same period last year. The number of deaths and injuries decreased by 67 and 36, respectively.
