High-speed patrol boat in use by city-based anti-smuggling control team

The high-speed patrol boat HQ 11- 91- 63 has been handed over to the Da Nang-based Anti-Smuggling Control Team in the Central Region which is under the General Department of Viet Nam Customs.

The 5,200 horsepower boat has a length of 34.37m, a maximum width of 6.8m, a displacement of 123 tonnes, and a well-trained crew of 16 onboard.

It is equipped with synchronous equipment, boasting a maximum speed of 30 knots per hour, a range of 1,200 nautical miles, and a maximum operation of 15 consecutive days at sea.

In the current context of many complicated developments in smuggling, trade frauds, and illegal transportation of goods at sea, the operation of the high-speed patrol boat aims to help customs forces effectively patrol, and combat with smuggling activities at sea.

The HQ 11-91-63 is one of the new 6 high-speed patrol boats in use by customs forces nationwide.

Previously, 4 boats had been put into use by anti-smuggling control teams in the northern and southern regions, and another for the Quang Ninh Provincial Customs Department.
