Due to the effects of the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region, the prolonged heatwave continues to grip Da Nang and elsewhere in the north, central and southern regions.

The widespread heatwave throughout the northern part of the country is likely to recede by the end of today and the temperatures will gradually decrease starting from tomorrow, 26 April.

Meanwhile, the central and southern parts will continue bracing for the ongoing extreme hot weather conditions until 28 April.

In particular, coastal localities from Da Nang to Binh Thuan Province are experiencing sunny weather in the daytime with the highest temperatures ranging from 34 to 37 degrees Celsius, whilst the lowest humidity is reported as between 45 and 93%.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible in vulnerable areas in the central region’s mountainous areas in the late afternoon and evening due to the effects of extreme hot spells.

Blistering heatwave conditions are affecting central highlands localities with the average temperatures of between 33 to 36 degrees Celsius in the daytime, and over 36 degree Celsius in some parts of these localities. The lowest humidity is reported as between 35 and 96%.

In the nighttime, thunderstorms and scattered will probably occur in these localities, while strong wind, tornadoes, lighting and hail are possible.
