The positive results have been attributed to various effective measures taken by the local traffic police officers to raise public awareness about strictly obeying the national traffic regulations.
Their focus was on increasing their patrols and checks at major streets, entertainment areas, and tourist attractions to deal with traffic violators. Importance was also attached to regulating the traffic at key intersections in order to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles there.
During the 3 days, a total of 270 road traffic violations were recorded, including exceeding the speed limit, running through the red light, travelling in the wrong lanes and directions, and driving vehicles without rear-view mirrors.
Only partial traffic congestion occurred at the intersection of Ton Duc Thang and Hoang Van Thai streets due to a growing number of vehicles flocking to the tourists-packed Sun World Ba Na Hills.
