The signing ceremonies are part of a 1.832 billion VND project to convert the 3 district-level medical centres in Hai Chau, Cam Le, and Hoa Vang into the so-called ‘satellite facilities’ for the Da Nang General Hospital during the 2019 - 2021 period.
The intention of the project is to reduce the current patient overload at the hospital, and enhance the quality of healthcare services at these medical centres.
Under the agreement, the Da Nang General Hospital will organise 3-month training courses for these medical centres during that period.
The courses will focus on such advanced techniques as endoscopic, facial and jaw surgery, anesthesia, emergency resuscitation, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and surgery for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia.
As planned, 100% of specialised techniques will be introduced, and transferred to satellite hospitals, and the hospital transfer rate from ‘satellite facilities’ to the ‘nuclear hospital’ will be reduced by at least 15%, by 2021.
In addition, functional bodies will be responsible for conducting survey about the urgent needs of reducing the current patient overload at ‘nuclear hospitals’, as well as for developing more 'satellite hospitals' in the city over the 2022-2025 period.
