The Da Nang People’s Committee on Monday imposed a fine of 273 million VND upon the Paris Deli JSC located at 236 Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Son Tra District, for discharging a large volume of wastewater which exceeds the permissible limits into the environment.

Accordingly, the company-dumped wastewater was found to have surpassed readings in the 2 indicators. In detail, BOD5 exceeds the permitted standards by 4.2 times, whilst NH4 + is 3.7 times higher than the allowable limits set out in the national environmental regulations.

The municipal administration has demanded that the Paris Deli JSC ensure its treated effluent meeting the national standards on domestic wastewater. Also, the company has been asked to submit to the local authorities relevant documents proving its completion of environmental improvement obligations.

In addition to its administrative penalty, the violated company has also been required to pay 966,000 VND in inspection fees.
