The Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches has recommended both domestic and foreign tourists to be cautious when travelling to the Son Tra Peninsula by motorbikes.

Mr Phan Minh Hai, the Deputy Head of the Management Board, said compared to roads in a flat area, roads in mountain areas have far more corners, and those corners are often really tight.
He, therefore, advised motorcyclists to be extra careful whilst riding their vehicles to the peninsula, especially when going up and down slopes.
“If you ride steep downward by motorbikes, you should ride down in 4th gear and brake to avoid drift steeply”, Mr Hai remarked.
He also advised visitors not to ride scooters to the peninsula in order to avoid unexpected accidents.
Moreover, Mr Hai highlighted dangers faced by travellers riding scooters to go down slopes due to their use of both front and rear brakes. This will make brakes get hot and worn out, causing high risk for falling down and crashing into talus.
Besides, the Management Board recommends tourists not to leave rubbish, feed wild animals, burn fire, eat or drink or stay overnight on the peninsula.
Notably, visitors are advised not to travel on the peninsula in bad weather, heavy rain and strong wind because there will be a high risk of landslides at some vulnerable lowland areas, thereby causing danger for road users.
Currently, warning signs are being placed at some tourist attractions on the peninsula such as the Ban Co Peak (Chess Board Peak), the radar station No 29, and old banyan tree.
