Between 4.00pm and 5.00pm on Tuesday, the Da Nang Department of Police held a general rehearsal of activities to ensure security and traffic safety for the forthcoming Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2019.

Accordingly, under the direction of the Department’s Director, traffic police, crime police, mass mobilisation and civil defence forces across the city were present at the assigned locations.

At the event’s main stage, firefighting forces were ready for any unexpected incidents during the 5 performance nights.

Meanwhile, the border guard and waterway traffic police forces jointly conducted river patrols by speedboats.

According to a spokesperson for the municipal Department of Police, police officers will be on duty right at crowded areas and intersections in order to ease traffic congestion.

In addition, 18 teams of firefighters, 12 fire engines and 2 water pumps will be sent at the fireworks storage area, main stage and viewing stands because of the presence of many flammable items, thereby securing a rapid response to any emergency cases.

Also, 7 boats, 12 canoes and over 250 border guard and waterway traffic police forces will be on duty on the Han River.

Besides, relevant agencies will maintain their close coordination in ensuring the ultimate safety of the DIFF participants.
