Hot weather continues to push fire risk in the city
Heatwaves are sweeping Da Nang and elsewhere in the mid-central region with the highest temperatures in the daytime of 39 degree Celsius.
The hot spell is resulted from the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region.
Blistering heatwave conditions are affecting mid-central regional localities with the average temperatures of between 36 to 39 degrees Celsius in the daytime, and over 36 degree Celsius, especially from 9.30am until 5.00pm.
In the districts of Hoa Vang, Cam Le, Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe and Hai Chau, the highest temperature ranges from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius, whilst the lowest humidity is reported as between 45 and 55%.
Meanwhile, Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts are experiencing the highest temperature of between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, and the lowest humidity of from 50 - 60%.
A warning about the risk of fires spreading in the hot weather has been issued by the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting as the hot weather is set to continue into the next few days.
In the nighttime, thunderstorms, lighting and strong wind will probably occur across the city.
