From 28 to 30 April, members from the Social Work Team under the Students’ Association of the Da Nang University of Education made a joint charity trip to the mountainous commune of Tra Ka, Bac Tra My District, Quang Nam Province.

Within the framework of this charity trip, the participants presented 10 gifts, worth 200,000 VND each, to children in the poor commune. Each gift consisted of books, notebooks and other learning tools. Also, 15 others, with each containing fish sauce, salt, rice and spice products, were given to local poor families.

In addition, the young volunteers from Da Nang got actively involved in decorating a kindergarten with their hand-made materials, creating a vegetable growing area equipped with an automatic watering system, and building a 300m² concrete yard at the Hoang Van Thu Senior High School Semi-Boarding School for ethnic minority pupils.

Besides, various cultural, sports, and musicical exchange activities were organised successfully during this meaningful trip.

According to team leader Ngo Thi Hoai Ly, a third-year student from the university, since its inception in 2005, the annual trip has been conducted to mark the National Reunification Day (30 April). A total of 30 million VND was raised by the Social Work Team went to use for this year’s trip.
