People actively involved in 'Green, Clean and Beautiful Sunday' campaign

On Sunday morning, thousands of people across Da Nang participated in the ‘Green, Clean, and Beautiful Sunday’ campaign, and classifying household waste at source, in a bid to promote the effective implementation of the ‘Building Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city’ project.

During that day, residents in Hai Chau District’s Hoa Cuong Bac Ward collected nearly 3 million VND from selling a total of 613 kilos of papers, empty beer cans, and plastic bottles. The money will then go to help local poor children.

Meanwhile, citizens in other districts became active involved in cleaning up vacant land lots and pavements, watering green trees, and sorting household waste at source.

According to a spokesperson for the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, the city’s ‘Green, Clean and Beautiful Sunday’ campaign regularly takes place every Sunday morning in many localities across the city.

Up to now, 21 wards and communes in the city have been recognised as environmentally friendly localities.
