About five storms to hit mainland from July – December

Among 10-12 storms or tropical low pressure forecast to hit East Sea, up to five are forecast to directly impact Viet Nam’s mainland from July – December 2019, according to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

From July – October, average temperature nationwide will be 0.5- 1 Celsius degree higher than the average in the same period of years.

The total rainfall in the north will be also 10-30 percent higher than the average from July – August.

Floods will also occur in the region from July – October. Flash floods and landslides are at high risk in the northwest.

Dry season in the central coastal and south central provinces is likely to last till August and September.

During July – December, water level in the northwest and northeast will be equivalent to the average years ago.

In the central and Central Highlands regions, there will be small floods from the late June to July.
