After nearly 2 months of piloting the urban management application on smartphones, Hai Chau District has gained numerous positive results. The district is the first locality in Da Nang to apply information technology (IT) into the urban management work, thereby moving towards the building of ‘smart district’.

Thanks to the urban management application, the urban order situation in Hai Chau District has been ensured.

Since early May, Hai Chau District has started to apply the digitised urban management. Over the past 2 months, the application has focused on managing construction and urban order, and troubleshooting technical infrastructure problems.

Accordingly, local residents can download the mobile app on the App Store and CH Play for installation.

After detecting violations relating to social security, traffic safety, illegal construction, environmental pollution, and other matters of deep concern across the district, residents will access the app to upload pictures and videos, and write descriptions about the violations, in order to help the local authorities quickly discover problems occuring in the district, and find the fastest way to resolve them.

Residents can present any problems or their complaints relating to social security, traffic safety, environmental pollution, and other matters of deep concern in the district via their smartphones.
Residents can report any problems or their complaints relating to social security, traffic safety, environmental pollution, and other matters of deep concern in the district to local relevant agencies via their smartphones.

After receiving a complaint via the app, the ward-level authorities will send their staff to the locations where the violation has occurred.

They then inform the results of solving the problem via the app to residents. If residents dissatisfied about the results, they will continue to lodge complaints via the app.

During the pilot period, a total of around 300 complaints with the focus on pavement encroachment and environmental sanitation have been sent. Over 260 of them have been effectively handled, creating satisfaction for local residents.

Mr Do Nhu Thanh from Phuoc Ninh Ward remarked the urban management application via smartphones is very popular and easy to use. With a smartphone you can easily contribute their opinions and feedback about all aspects to the district authorities. After that, the authorities promptly deal with the problems, contributing to ensuring environmental hygiene and urban order in the locality.
