The heatwave is still expected to continue into the next 2-3 days in central coastal localities from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai provinces, including Da Nang, with temperatures continuing to reach 38 degree Celsius, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has warned.

Today, 17 June, mid-central regional localities are basking in the average temperatures of between 35 and 38 degree Celsius in the daytime, and above 35 degree Celsius especially from 10.00am until 4.00pm.

In Da Nang, the average high temperature in the daytime is hovering at between 34 to 37 degrees Celsius in the daytime, and even over 35 degree Celsius in some parts of the city, especially from 11.00am until 3.00pm.

In the nighttime, lighting and strong winds will probably occur in Da Nang, while forest fires will be possible in Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu districts, and the Son Tra Peninsula.
