On Thursday afternoon, a representative of the Da Nang-based Mai Linh Taxi Company said that the company’s taxi driver has just returned a dropped property to its owner.

A dropped property returned to its owner

At 9.30am on Thursday, Mai Linh taxi driver Nguyen Ngoc Tay took Mr Dang Van Dong, a native of Ha Noi, from the Con Market to the Royal Charm Hotel on Tran Bach Dang Street.

After dropping the passenger at the hotel, Mr Luong found a handbag in his taxi which contained 130 million VND in cash, plus some important personal papers.  Soon after receiving a report about collected items from driver Tay, the Mai Linh Company representative returned the missing property to Mr Dong at 11.00am on the same day.

Over the past years, many local people have been honoured for their honesty as they have returned the large amount to their owners.

Most recently, sanitation worker Tran Thi Tri returned a dropped bag containing a Samsung cell phone and 30 million VND in cash to its owner, a Bac Kan Province native.
