Musical fundraiser for poor children to be held this weekend
It was announced at a press conference on Sunday that a charity musical performance entitled ‘Human Love’ will take place at Da Nang’s Trung Vuong Theatre at 7.30pm on 9 June.

With the purpose of raising money to help local poor children, the event is being co-organised by the municipal Association of Charity and Children's Rights Protection, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the municipal Youth Union, the DA NANG Newspaper, the Da Nang Radio and Television station (DRT), and the Da Nang Cong An (Police) Newspaper. It will be broadcast live on DRT.
The event will feature songs about the love for Da Nang, and the country as a whole, and love songs by local singers. There will also be a meeting between generous donors and poor students who are overcoming their difficulties to study well.
All money collected from ticket sales will go to help poor local children,
During the event, the organisers will present scholarships, valued at 250,000 VND each, to 100 poor studious students, and give 50 million VND to each of 12 poor families to help them repair their downgraded houses.
Between April and June, a total of around 10.9 billion VND has been raised by the Association from philanthropists at both home and abroad for poor children across the city.
The raised money has gone to give a means of her livelihood to poor families, present gifts to 200 poor children and people in Tam Thuan Ward, and donate glasses to 560 elderly people.
The focus has been on giving wheelchairs to the disabled, and covering all the costs of cleft lip and palate surgery for 20 children.
