On Wednesday morning, a representative from the Da Nang Department of Transport presented a Certificate of Merit and 2 million VND in bonuses from the department’s budget to Mr Mai Xuan Hung in recognition of his good deeds in ensuring traffic safety in the city.

Mr Hung breaking up the cement mortar in order to make the road surface clear on 24 May

In the afternoon of 24 May, the 38-year-old man tripped over a large mixed concrete cement mortar on a section of the 1A Highway in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Chau Commune when he was on his way home in Quang Nam Province’s Thang Binh District from work. This made him almost fall off his motorbike.

Although the section of the road was quite far from his home, Mr Hung and his friend Doan Canh pulled over to the side of the road, and used some necessary tools to break up the cement mortar in order to make the road surface clear.

In his remarks at the reward ceremony, Director of the municipal Department of Transport Le Van Trung applauded Mr Hung for his meaningful activity in spreading willingness to do good deeds in the society, as well as contributing to ensuring the traffic safety in the city.
