Soaring heatwave conditions are likely to continue prevailing Da Nang and elsewhere in the mid-central region until 15 June as maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 2-3°C, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting warned.

Today, 10 June, mid-central regional localities are bracing for the average temperatures of between 35 and 38 degree Celsius in the daytime, and above 35 degree Celsius especially from 10.00am until 4.00pm.

The hot weather is set to continue into the next few days, and its intensity is gradually increasing with the highest set to hit over 40 degrees Celsius.

Starting from 15 June, the intensity and frequency of the current heatwaves are likely to decrease, but the temperatures still remain between 37 and 39 degree Celsius.

Da Nang is seeing sunny weather in the daytime with the highest temperatures ranging from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius. The heatwaves are becoming hotter, longer and more frequent from now until 13 June.

In the nighttime, lighting and strong winds will probably occur in the city, while forest fires will be possible in the city’s Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu districts, and the Son Tra Peninsula.
