The city suffers severe heatwave
According to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the prolonged heatwave continues to sweep across Da Nang and elsewhere in the central region due to the effects of the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region.
Today, 7 June, mid-central regional localities are bracing for the average temperatures of between 35 and 37 degree Celsius in the daytime, and above 35 degree Celsius in some localities, especially from 9.00am until 3.30pm.
Meanwhile, Da Nang is seeing sunny weather in the daytime with the highest temperatures ranging from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius, and over 35 degree Celsius from 11.30am until 2.00pm.
In the nighttime, lighting and strong winds will probably occur in the city, while forest fires will be possible in the city’s Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu districts, and the Son Tra Peninsula.
