In particular, DYMUN 2019 features much-awaited presentations made by 2 famous guest speakers, namely ‘Vietnamese child prodigy’ Do Nhat Nam and Rosie Nguyen, who is the author of the famous book ‘How worthwhile is your youth?’.

Mr Dao Duy Manh, the Deputy General Secretary of DYMUN 2019 cum Head of External Relations of the programme, said this year’s event features the formal simulations of meetings of 5 international organisations. They are the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), the UN International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), World Health Organisation (WHO) and UN Security Council (UNSC).

In detail, participants will authentically simulate negotiations of the international organisations. During the negotiations, participants will have the opportunity to become delegates who represent a country, as well as its policies and agenda. On behalf of their country, delegates will debate and propose resolutions to tackle urgent global issues, including but not limited to trade war, unemployment, hunger or gender equality. Every committee aims to reach the consensus among the members on a specific issue, while ensuring the national interests of each member states.

After more than 60 years of formation and development, there have been many high schools and universities in the world, as well as Viet Nam, hosting their own Model UN Conferences to serve educational purposes.

Since its first organsiation in Da Nang last year, DYMUN has become an educational playground that receives great support of students nationwide. This is the ideal environment for participants to enhance their English skills, overcome the fear of public speaking practice, enhance their debating and problem-solving skills, and broaden their understanding of global issues. Model UN is also an entrance that leads them to the era of international integration through the necessary knowledge and skills.
