The awards ceremony took place on Monday in Da Nang for the contest to find the best ideas for floral displays and lighting decorations for the 2020 Tet Festival.

As a result, the group of Nguyen Ngoc Tu, Tran Nhat Tien, and Phung Huu Hoang Thoa from the city-based University of Science and Technology won the first prize of 20 million VND for their design idea on floral decorations entitled ‘Spring Reunion’.

The ‘Pure Sunshine’ work by a group of Ho Sy Duc, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and Hoang Ngoc Ha, all from the municipal University of Architecture, claimed the first prize of 20 million VND in the category of lighting decorations.

Besides, a second prize of 10 million VND, a third of 5 million VND, and 3 consolation prizes of 3 million VND each were awarded in each category.

In his remarks at the awards ceremony, the municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman cum Head of the contest’s Organising Board, Mr Dang Viet Dung, highly praised the quality of this year’s entries. He noted that this year saw a significant increase in the number of entries in the category of lighting decorations as compared with previous years.

He also asked functional bodies to appeal for public donations to implement the winning ideas for floral displays and lighting decorations to celebrate Tet 2020.
