Many exciting activities at local marine environment event

A wide range of highly inviting activities took place within the framework of the Da Nang Marine Environment Festive Day on Saturday. Held at the East Sea Park by the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, the event attracted a great deal of attention from both locals and visitors.

Notable amongst the activities were outdoor booths displaying organic agricultural products, healthy food, biodegradable and environmentally friendly products, exciting games for both children and adults, workshops on environmental protection, and installation arts spaces.

In particular, 5 creative sculptures featuring gobies swallowing plastic waste, donated by the Big C supermarket and the Lien Chieu District Youth Union Organisation, were placed on local beaches so as to raise public awareness about the damage done by plastic materials to marine life.

Mr Nguyen Duc Vu, the Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, underlined the significance of the event in widely promoting the impressive image of the city’s marine tourism, and encouraging more locals and visitors from home and abroad to protect the environment by saying ‘no’ to single-use plastic products, as well as reducing, reusing and recycling waste.
