Over 27,600 traffic violations handled in 3 months.

Between 23 April and 20 July, Da Nang’s traffic police officers checked and issued notices to a total of 27,604 vehicles for traffic violations across the city. A total of nearly 16 billion VND in fines, which was imposed on 22,641 violations cases, went to the city’s branch of the Viet Nam State Treasury. There was an increase of 5,304 violations and nearly 3 billion VND in fines against the previous 3-month period.

Also, 1,254 motorbikes and 113 cars were temporarily seized, and 3,618 offenders had their driving licences revoked.

The above-mentioned figures were released at Wednesday’s meeting held by the municipal Police Department to review traffic order and safetyduring the past 3 months.

It was reported that various effective measures taken by the traffic police officers in a synchronous manner to raise public awareness about strictly obeying the national traffic regulations.

Their focus was on easing traffic congestion in downtown areas, strictly handling illegal races, detecting drivers found with blood alcohol levels exceeding the legal limit for driving, and dealing with other violations.
