The event was jointly organised by the Prudential Viet Nam Life Insurance Company and the World Wide Fund for Nature in Viet Nam (WWF Viet Nam).

The intention of the programme was to join efforts with the municipal authorities to protect marine environment and species, as well as raise public awareness about the status and the negative impacts of plastic waste, thereby encouraging people to reduce the plastic waste released into the environment.

After the launch ceremony, over 800 volunteers became actively involved in cleaning up the Kim Lien Beach. They were staff members of WWF Viet Nam, employees and counselors of the Prudential Viet Nam Life Insurance Company nationwide, members of the Da Nang Youth Union, and the ward’s residents. Most notably, during the clean-up process, they classified collected garbage at the source.
