Scorching temperatures expected to continue for next days
The heatwave is still expected to continue into the next several days in mid-central regional localities, including Da Nang, due to the effects of the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has warned.
Today, 10 August, mid-central regional localities are basking in the average temperatures of between 35 and 37 degree Celsius in the daytime, and above 37 degree Celsius in some parts of these localities, especially from 10.00am until 4.00pm. Meanwhile, the lowest humidity is reported to hover at between 45 and 60%.
In Da Nang, soaring heatwave conditions are likely to continue to prevail the districts of Hoa Vang, Cam Le, Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe and Hai Chau into the next few days with predicted highest temperatures of 36 degree Celsius. In the nighttime, showers and thunderstorms will probably occur in these districts. The lowest humidity is reported to hover at between 55 and 88%.
Meanwhile, weather in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son is likely to be quite a bit cooler than that recorded in the above-mentioned districts as their temperatures soar to only 35 degree Celsius. The humidity level is expected to be as low as between 58 and 85%.
